DG meets Korean Investors

The NEMA Director General, Dr. Mamo B. Mamo, EBS on 22nd July, 2026 met with a delegation of Korean investors exploring the establishment of a plastic recycling facility under a full circular economy model.

The DG welcomed the delegation and assured them of NEMA’s support, citing waste management and circular economy as key national priorities. He noted that the country has a robust legal framework dealing with issues of waste management. The Authority will offer all required technical guidance.

Led by the CEO of Earth Work Consulting, the team focuses on Waste-to-Resource technologies that convert plastic waste into pellets to reduce landfill waste. A pre-feasibility study is currently underway in Kiambu County
